Wellbeing – Information and Support

Hello and welcome to our Health & Wellbeing page.

Here you can find important information about how we at Old Hall nurture our children in a holistic, person-centred approach.

At Old Hall we strive to motivate and inspire every child that we work with, break through the barriers of expectations and harness all opportunities to create a climate of success and achievement for all.

We are proud to employ a SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental-Health) Lead, Mrs A.Grant and also our SENCO, Mr. R. Cooley at Old Hall who work together to ensure that all of our children make positive progress. They bring a wealth of innovative and outstanding ideas to engage all pupils.

Mrs. A.Grant and Mr. R. Cooley have a policy to be approachable and consistent; they give and earn respect from our pupils, staff, parents and carers. They work alongside many local and national agencies to give our children the best possible provision available.

In the main reception area you will find a notice board with weekly updates from the Bury Children's Partnership regarding local events across the borough to support families with SEMH and SEND needs. The board will be updated regularly with advice and strategies for families.

If you should ever wish to discuss your child's Health and Wellbeing then do please get in touch via the school office.

Mrs. A.Grant & Mr. R. Cooley.

This year at Old Hall we are extremely excited to announce that we will be using My Happy Mind as a whole school approach towards positive mental Health. My Happy Mind focuses on the following:

  • Practising Happy Breathing techniques to reduce anxiety
  • Teaching the children about their brains and how they work
  • Helping the children to recognise their character strengths rather than achievements
  • Teaching the children about gratitude

A letter has been sent home detailing how you can access parent resources to continue this work at home.

https://myhappymind.org/parent-resources- enter our unique number given in the letter.
