A Warm Welcome To Our Reception Class Page
Happy New Year!!!
We hope you have all had a very happy and healthy Christmas and New Year and we would like to thank you for all your lovely cards, kind words, thoughts and presents, it is very generous of you.
As the Spring term begins and we are unsure of what the near future has in store for us I am going to share our topic overview with you and the enhancements that I would like the children to do as their home learning each week. They will still have their online learning which can also be found on the website.
This half term we are going to be focusing on Traditional tales and all the wonderful well-known stories that we all grew up with. We are going to focus on 4 main stories this half term but will also be reading other stories relating to our theme and the children’s interests.
The four main stories are Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk.
In Reception we plan our topics around the children’s interests as well as specific themes and although I plan the lessons in advance I will change and adapt them to follow the children’s interests and suit their needs. This is a very fluid way of learning and one day’s planning may not necessarily follow the previous days, as the children’s discussions and ideas have taken us in a very different direction. However, the children’s specific learning outcomes are still planned within these changes.
Below you will be able to see this half terms home learning project have a look and get those creative juices flowing 😊. If you have any questions about this project you will be still be able to ask myself or Miss Cooper any questions via class dojo.

Eve and Duggy
Eve and Duggy are our two class teddies. Each week they go on different adventures with the children. The children are encouraged to write about their adventures and either draw or take photo's of their experiences. The children love to share their adventures with the other children in the class.
