Welcome to the Reception Class Page!

YR welcome to Summer Term 2.

May 30, 2020

Well, children I hope you have all had a wonderful half term holiday from all your school work and that you managed to do some lovely family activities, especially because we have had some super weather.  I want to say a huge thank you for all your hard work and creativity that you showed me through the Tapestry app before we broke up. I loved seeing all your wonderful work and watching all your videos. It took me a long time to view them all but I got there in the end😊!

Well a new term has begun and we are going to be having a lovely time looking at lots of different stories and tales. Some of these you will know very well and others you may be less familiar with. We will be delving into these stories and joining in with activities linked to them.

I am going to be asking you listen to these stories, retell them, act them out and change them. Some of the stories I will read to you on Tapestry and some of them will be on you tube and others you will already know and be able to talk about them without even seeing the story.

Each week I will continue to put the home learning grid on the website with Maths, English and enhancement activities on and I will still video your daily phonics lessons.

I am so proud of every single one of you and can’t wait until I can see you all again.

I know many of you have had birthdays since we broke up and you haven’t had a chance for a dip in the birthday box, but don’t worry, when we come back together I will make sure all those birthdays that have been missed will be celebrated.

Miss Cooper, Mrs Jones and I want to you stay happy, safe and well.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon,

Mrs Hesketh x

Wedding at All Saint's Church

In November, we took a trip to All Siant's Church to visit Simon who had been helping us with our 'celebrations', topic. After exploring the church and asking lots of questions we then looked at a traditional Christian wedding and all the children took part carrying out their roles beautifully. Thank you Simon for this experience!

We have had so much fun over Christmas, we had our first Nativity performance and we also danced at our Christmas Party. The children also enjoyed showing us their Christmas jumpers for 'Save the Children'. Here are a few pictures of the fun that we got up to!

Eve and Duggy

Eve and Duggy are our two class teddies. Each week they go on different adventures with the children. The children are encouraged to write about their adventures and either draw or take photo's of their experiences. The children love to share their adventures with the other children in the class.
