Welcome to the Year 5 Class Page
Hi Year 5!
I hope everyone is still well and making the most of the sunshine. We have been very lucky to have such spectacular weather.
As the lockdown has continued, I have been in school a bit over that last few weeks, teaching the key worker children. I kept up my running and cycling and been working on a few projects, it’s sometimes good to have a rest but being busy and doing things can help too! I can't wait to see you all and hear what you have been up to over these past months.
As we approach the final half term of Year 5, our final topic would have been The Tudors. I would like you to research as much about them as you can, this time period starts in 1485 with the Battle of Bosworth and ends with James VI of Scotland, who was also James I of England, which was the beginning of a United Kingdom. Please don’t worry, you can still finish off any Egyptian activities you were enjoying, I will keep the sheet on the website.
Don't forget you can still access the daily numeracy and literacy activities which are on the home learning page. We have learnt all the spellings for Year 5 now so just keep practicing the common exception words, the Year 3 / 4 spelling list and the 5 / 6 spelling list and your times tables (these will help you in Year 6).
It is really strange though without you all there and I can't wait for us all to be back together again like we were before lockdown. Hopefully soon!
I hope you are now able to see some of your friends and family again.
I hope to see you soon, keep safe and keep happy!
