Extra-curricular Clubs
Pupil Leadership Clubs
Pupil leadership is of great importance here at Old Hall. Representatives from across the school are the voice of the Old Hall children, and together, we work hard to continue to grow our school. The current leadership roles we have in place can be found below:
School Council
The School Council gives pupils a voice in the life of the school and helps them to take an active role in making decisions that affect their school community. Representatives from each class are elected by their peers and meet regularly to share ideas, discuss issues, and work together on projects that improve school life for everyone.
Through the School Council, children learn about democracy, responsibility, and teamwork. They develop confidence in speaking and listening, as well as skills in problem-solving and leadership. Whether they’re helping to plan events, promoting school values, or suggesting ways to make the school even better, School Council members play an important part in ensuring that every pupil’s opinions are heard and respected.
Sport Ambassadors
As sports ambassadors we are the pupil voice for PE and other physical activity at Old Hall Primary School. We advise Mrs Miller on how children feel about physical activity at school and how it can be improved.
We always look to make improvements and promote an active lifestyle. One of our key roles is to rund the WOW walk to school scheme to promote sutainable ways of getting to school.
eCadets
We’re proud to announce we’re an eCadet school. The eCadets is an award winning programme which trains, empowers and supports a team of pupils to train other children in school and to encourage online safety.
eCadets is run by a team of former police officers, child protection officers and teachers and there is also the opportunity for the cadets to communicate through Bubble – the 100% safe social platform which is run and moderated by eCadets HQ and enables children engage with other eCadets in complete safety.

Children's advice about Online Safety
As today is Safer Internet Day, the children of Old Hall Primary School have some advice for you.
Eco Warriors
Welcome to Old Hall's Eco Warrior page. This page will tell you all about our team and some of the ideas we have. As an eco warrior, we hold meetings, make suggestions and decisions, as well as being involved in projects that the team runs, both in school and as part of the wider community.
This year so far, we will...
- Elect new members for our team - 2 children from each year group.
- Complete an environmental review of our school.
- Create an action plan.
- Set up a suggestion box.
- Create a notice board in school for others to see what we do.
Aims for the future...
- To reduce the amount of paper in schools and encourage people to recycle.
- To encourage children to use reusable water bottles.
- To collect and recycle plastic whiteboard pens and felt-tips.
- To collect and recycle batteries.
- To collect and recycle crisp packets
What have we achieved so far?
Crisp Packet Recycling
- Collected over 1,000 empty crisp packets from children’s packed lunches and from some brought in from home.
- Posters were put up around the school to raise awareness of the scheme.
Used Pen & Whiteboard Pen Recycling via TerraCycle
- The whole school is encouraged to collect used pens and whiteboard pens.
- These are sent via the TerraCycle scheme, so they won’t go to landfill.
Participation in RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch
- Eco Warriors took part in the Big Garden Birdwatch over the weekend, observing and counting birds from their gardens.
- Recorded various species: Blackbird, House sparrow, Wood Pigeon, Blue tit, Coal tit, Robin, Dunnock.
National Spring Clean-Up
- Last year’s Eco Warriors went out into the local community to collect rubbish.
- They surveyed what they found and submitted their information to support the national survey.
Health & Safety
Each class has Health and Safety representatives, whose job it is to ensure we are a safe school and we are all looking after each other's health and safety.
Our new Health and Safety representatives are in the process of being elected for each class and will continue their school checks on a regular basis, the details of which can be seen below.
What we do...
Every week, the health and safety team have an inspection for a different classroom. They have a laminated sheet with the things they need to look out for, such as
- The lights are turned off in the classroom
- The chairs are pushed under tables
- There are no bags on the floor
- There is no paper left near the sockets
