Here is the curriculum map for Year 1, it contains all the exciting, interesting things we will be learning this year. During the course of the year, in line with the children's interests topics may move. If topics do move this will be made aware in the class newsletter.

Summer 2 Spellings

Our Topic

Common Exception Words

As well as the Year 1 spelling programme of study, the children also need to be able to read and spell in their independent writing these frequently used words that are exceptions to the usual spelling rules.

Please follow the link to the list published by Twinkl.

Our topic this term is The Seaside! Our history question for this half term will be: Why do we like to be beside the seaside? We wiill be looking at where seasides are, how seaside holidays have changed and natural and man-made items at/in the beach.

A T-Rex in the classroom!

After playtime, we came back into the class and something had been in our classroom! There were bones, eggs, footprints and even poo! We then saw the animal had left a video of them on the daily mile track. Take a look at what had been inside our classroom. We have decided that we are going to write a letter to a scientist explaining what has been in our classroom and what we have found.

In Year 1 we have been learning about instructions. We had a lot of fun making a fruit smoothie and instructing each other on the steps to follow.

Please see below the instructions that we have been learning.
