PSHE

We aim to provide a relevant PSHE curriculum to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social

and cultural development and prepare them for the opportunities and responsibilities of

life. These aims ensure that the curriculum enables pupils to develop the knowledge and

understanding of their own and different beliefs, emotional development and to help our

pupils to form and maintain satisfying relationships.

Pupils at Old Hall should learn to:

  • have respect for themselves and others, valuing the differences and similarities between people

  • develop good relationships with other members of the school and wider community

  • be independent, self-disciplined and responsible members of society

  • develop self-confidence and self-esteem, and make informed choices regarding personal and social issues

  • know and understand what constitutes a healthy lifestyle

  • be aware of safety issues and manage risk in their own lives.

Subject Overview and policy

Please have a look at the curriculum statement, overview or subject policy to see how PSHE is taught at Old Hall throughout the year.

In light of recent events some children have been involved in a well-being intervention led and managed by Mrs Maguire. They have created worry dolls to help them discuss and share their worries. Sometimes children rather speak to a doll.
